Westword and Meraki Collaborate with Tetra Lounge for Denver’s Historic BYOWeed Event
A Night to Remember: Westword Magazine Joins Tetra Lounge for a Historic Cannabis Event
Denver’s cannabis culture has never seen anything like this. When Westword Magazine debuted its exclusive Joint Pack in collaboration with Meraki Brands at Tetra Lounge, it wasn’t just a product launch—it was a celebration of culture, community, and a legally compliant future for social cannabis consumption.
The Only Legal BYOWeed Lounge in Denver
Tetra Lounge proudly holds the distinction of being Denver’s only state-licensed cannabis hospitality space where guests can legally BYOWeed (Bring Your Own Weed) and consume it on-site. In a city rich with cannabis history, Tetra stands alone in offering a space where community members, tourists, and cannabis professionals can gather, connect, and partake—legally.
This isn’t an underground party. It’s not a pop-up. It’s not skirting the rules. Tetra Lounge operates within the framework of the Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED), following all licensing, transport, and consumption regulations to the letter.
What the Event Looked Like: Engaging the Culture, Legally
The evening kicked off with energy and excitement as guests arrived with their own cannabis, ready to take part in the festivities. Following all METRC transport laws, each attendee brought properly labeled and legally purchased cannabis products. Inside, the atmosphere reflected something rare in today’s cannabis world: open, safe, regulated community consumption.
Two signature competitions anchored the night—one focused on rolling speed, the other on rolling artistry and quality. It wasn’t about promoting a brand or selling a product—it was about showcasing skills, sharing personal rituals, and encouraging interaction in a legal, welcoming environment.
Sharing, Not Sampling: What’s Allowed Under MED Rules
Tetra Lounge follows all MED protocols regarding cannabis consumption, including the rules surrounding sharing. Under Colorado law:
Adults 21+ may share cannabis in limited amounts as long as there is no compensation involved.
No sales, no gifting, no samples. Just sharing—openly and without exchange of money or services.
All cannabis must be brought by guests, not provided by hosts.
Tetra Lounge is fully aligned with these policies and proudly leads by example. We do not provide or facilitate cannabis sales. We simply offer a licensed, regulated space where guests can bring their own products and experience the power of community through sharing.
Leading the Industry: Why This Matters for Denver
This event with Westword and Meraki was more than a release—it was a proof of concept. Cannabis doesn’t have to exist in silos. Brands, media, and community spaces can collaborate legally and responsibly to strengthen the culture and build inclusive spaces.
Westword brought with them a team of individuals who’ve helped shape cannabis coverage and policy in Denver for years. Tetra opened its doors not just to celebrate, but to educate: this is what cannabis hospitality can look like when it’s done right.
BYOWeed: A Model for the Future
Most cities still don’t have a safe, legal place for cannabis consumers to gather. Even in Denver, many venues still face limitations due to zoning, lack of licensing, or misunderstanding of the law. But Tetra Lounge is different.
Our BYOWeed model is not just legal—it’s inspiring. It creates space for culture to thrive, for conversations to evolve, and for industries to partner across boundaries.
Whether you’re a medical user, a recreational consumer, a brand owner, or just curious—Tetra is here to offer a home base where you can:
Enjoy your cannabis safely
Meet others who respect the culture
Participate in events that elevate, not exploit, the community
With Gratitude to Our Allies in Cannabis Culture — Together Leading the Future of Cannabis Hospitality
Tetra Lounge is honored to have hosted this historic event and to be working alongside partners like Westword and Meraki who believe in the future of legal, respectful, and inclusive cannabis experiences. We look forward to continuing to lead, to educate, and to offer the only legal BYOWeed community consumption experience in Denver.
This is just the beginning. Welcome to the future of cannabis hospitality.
